Es gibt nur sehr wenige Renaissancefestungen nach italienischen Baustil in Europa. Eine davon steht bei Weissenburg in Bayern. Wir durchschritten das prunkvolle Haupttor um den Innenraum zu besichtigen.
Auf Tafeln wird über die wechselvolle Geschichte der Festung ausführlich informiert.
Nach der Innenbesichtigung umrundeten wir die Anlage auf dem gedeckten Weg wobei uns ein Unwetter etwas durchnässte.
Die Festung ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.
