Vom Parkplatz geht es erst langsam, später kräftig bergab Richtung Arzbach. Von dort entlang am Campingplatz und dem Freibald geht es wieder aufwärts. Teilweise steil aufsteigende Höhen rechts und links durch den herrlichen Westerwald. Gute Wanderschuhe von nöten, da die Wege nicht immer Pömps-tauglich sind.

B49 zwischen Neuhäusel und Montabaur direkt am "Herrgott", Parkplatz etwa zweihundert Meter hinter der Abfahrt nach Hillscheid von Montabaur kommend links.
