San Mateo - Santa Barbara

Pacific Coast Bicycle Trail with some detour to the wineries along the Santa Ynez Valley / Solvang. A GREAT tour, especially if you do it off season when there is not a lot of traffic. Attention: The last 40 miles to Santa Barbara are sort of difficult - there is basically no other way than going on highway 1 which at that part is a 2-lane highway with quite some traffic, but there is a wide shoulder to ride on. Still, you might want to go across the mountains from Solvang but I don't know how much traffic there is and how wide the roads. Alternatively stay in Solvang, visit a few wineries and skip Santa Barbara :-)
